Doug directs Garmann Miller’s communication and marketing efforts, which include public relations, advertising, event management, content development and digital media. He also leads GM’s community engagement efforts for clients needing marketing assistance in achieving winning results at the polls. Doug completed his bachelor’s at Wright State University and earned his master’s degree in communication from Auburn University. His writing has been published in national magazines, academic journals and trade publications. In 2020, Garmann Miller earned the Merit Award for Event Marketing from SMPS and Marketing Excellence honors from Zweig Group. In 2021, Zweig Group named GM’s Corporate Identity campaign No. 1 in the U.S. in its Marketing Excellence Awards. GM’s marketing team also earned first place in the Promotional Campaign category of SMPS Heartland Regional Conference’s 2022 Pinnacle Awards. In 2023, the GM Communication & Marketing team earned four national awards, including the SMPS M Award of Excellence in the Trade Show Marketing category. Doug is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services and recently finished a three-year term on the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He holds the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification through SMPS. Doug has trekked across the globe as a travel writer, visiting many exciting places in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
