SCOPE
New Construction
The new Enrichment Centers for Huron County opened its doors on January 6, 2025, marking a transformative step forward for Huron County seniors and the broader community. Replacing the previous senior center—housed in a building well over 100 years old—this modern facility offers a significant upgrade in comfort, accessibility, and amenities for residents.
Funded through federal American Rescue Plan funds rather than local taxpayer dollars, the $5 million, 15,000-square-foot center was designed to meet the growing needs of the senior community while providing flexible space for broader public use. Located on Shady Lane Drive next to the Norwalk License Bureau and Title Office, the facility has been under construction since early 2024 and is operated by Enrichment Centers for Huron County under the leadership of Executive Director Steve Beal.
