SCOPE
New Construction
Designed to support year-round training, conditioning, and recreation, the Fort Loramie Athletic Complex brings multiple athletic and wellness functions under one roof. The new 30,617-square-foot facility was envisioned as a flexible, high-performance environment that serves all student-athletes while standing up to heavy daily use. Material selections and architectural elements were thoughtfully chosen to complement the surrounding campus character while introducing a modern, state-of-the-art presence.
Inside, the complex is organized around a robust mix of athletic amenities that allow the space to adapt to a wide range of programs, seasons, and training needs. The facility includes an 8,600-square-foot indoor turf field and a 5,000-square-foot weight room, along with a mezzanine level featuring turf flooring and two batting cages. Additional spaces support training and recreation with a golf simulator room, a half-court basketball area with three motorized goals, and a dedicated volleyball court.

To encourage movement and accessibility for a variety of users, a one-lane walking track runs around the perimeter, with a two-lane sprint lane on the west side. Supporting spaces include restrooms and changing areas, a coaches office, and a trainer room—helping the complex function as a complete training destination for students and staff.
On the exterior, a metal composite panel façade defines the front elevation, paired with large areas of glazing that create an open, welcoming entry experience. Red overhangs emphasize the main approach, while linear lighting wraps both horizontally and vertically to highlight the building’s form. A pre-engineered metal building system provides the height and long-span structure required for the indoor turf field and mezzanine, creating the clear, unobstructed space needed for flexibility and performance.
