SCOPE
New Construction
Fairborn City Schools is entering the final phase of its district-wide facilities upgrade with the construction of a new Fairborn Middle School. Positioned adjacent to the recently completed Fairborn High School, the new middle school will complete the district’s transformation into a modern, future-ready PreK–12 campus.
Originally constructed in the early 1950s, the former Baker Middle School has served generations of Fairborn students, first as a high school and later as a middle school. “This will be the last building built in the district,” noted Superintendent Amy Gayheart. “Fairborn will have the newest and most modern educational facilities, PreK to 12th grade.”

This project builds on years of planning and community support. A 2016 bond issue helped deliver the new primary and intermediate schools in 2020 and 2022, respectively. A second bond passed in 2020 funded the new Fairborn High School, which opened in fall 2024. The upcoming middle school is the final piece of this multi-phase, community-backed investment in Fairborn’s educational infrastructure.
