SCOPE
Renovations
Garmann Miller partnered with Sidney, Ohio-based FGKS Law on the renovation of its office spaces. Let's delve into the details of this project and discover how GM turned FGKS’ vision into a reality.

Project scope: FGKS Law approached Garmann Miller with a clear vision—to revamp its office into a more inviting and open space. The existing environment was described as dark, dated and closed off, prompting the need for a complete overhaul. Our aim was to create a space that is not only visually appealing but also more functional. Garmann Miller successfully condensed the office layout, optimizing underutilized square footage. The objective was to foster a welcoming atmosphere where employees would be eager to spend time.

Overcoming challenges: Every project presents its unique challenges, and the FGKS Law renovation was no exception. The reception area's footprint couldn't be altered, but FGKS Law desired a more impactful first impression for visitors stepping off the elevator. The GM designers employed frameless, full-height glazing at the suite entry and around the main boardroom. This strategic design choice not only opened up the space visually but also addressed the challenge of creating a more welcoming entrance.
Key features: During the initial visioning and programming stages, we identified the importance of a larger communal break space. This insight led to the creation of a more expansive and functional break area. What stands out is the thoughtfully designed casework, accommodating all breakroom equipment and elevating the space to a residential level of comfort. The finished product exudes a sense of sophistication and functionality, providing a comfortable environment for both work and relaxation.
Stakeholder feedback: The success of any project is often measured by the feedback from those who inhabit the space. The FGKS team has expressed its satisfaction with the revitalized office environment. Specific examples of positive feedback were highlighted during the open house. The transformation has not only met but exceeded the expectations of those who experience the space daily.
