SCOPE
Addition
Four County Career Center is advancing career and technical education with a new building addition dedicated to high-demand electrical and welding programs. Now under construction, the expansion reflects a continued commitment to student success, workforce readiness, and regional economic growth across northwest Ohio.
Serving students from Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties, the career center has experienced a significant rise in interest in skilled trades. This project is designed to meet that demand while providing modern, industry-aligned learning environments. The project team is carefully coordinating phased construction to maintain safe access and minimize disruption for students, staff, and visitors throughout the build.
The new addition will include two welding labs and two electrical labs, along with supporting classrooms, testing rooms, storage areas, lockers, and a mezzanine. Together, these spaces are planned to enhance hands-on instruction, improve safety and functionality, and better reflect real-world working conditions students will encounter after graduation.

This expansion is made possible through a $14.79 million grant from the Ohio CTE Construction Facilities Expansion Fund, supplemented by $1 million in in-kind contributions and $1.26 million in contingency funds from FCCC. The combined investment underscores strong state and local support for career technical education and workforce development.
More than an addition, the project represents a long-term investment in the future of the region’s skilled workforce. Upon completion, the new facilities at Four County Career Center will provide students with expanded opportunities to build practical skills, earn industry-relevant experience, and prepare for successful careers in the trades.
