New build
Watkins Memorial High School is a 235,000 sf two-story high school that was designed to educate just over 1,200 students. The core spaces were designed to handle up to 1,600 students due to potential increase in enrollment. The building has over 50 classrooms including eight science rooms, two art rooms, two business rooms, band room and choir. The school contains two gymnasiums, one for competition and the other for auxiliary use.

The district took the arts to the next level by locally funding a 12,000 sf, 750-seat auditorium that supports a full fly at the stage. Dressing rooms, a scene shop, green room and light locks surround the massive interior house. Outside the auditorium, between the competition gym, is a 9,000 sf student dining space. A large video wall compliments this space and allows for student learning, guest speakers to do presentations, and visitors to watch performances or athletic events in the adjacent spaces.
