SCOPE
Renovation & New Construction
Constructed in the 1930s, Eggerss Stadium has long served as a gathering place for the Van Wert community. Van Wert City Schools partnered with Garmann Miller to preserve its legacy while enhancing the experience for athletes, spectators, and visitors.
Completed through multiple phases, the renovation effort balances historic preservation with modern amenities.

- Phase I included restoring the existing concrete stadium structure and replacing the natural grass playing surface with synthetic turf.
- Phase II introduced two group restrooms, a new ADA-accessible press box, an elevated ADA viewing platform, and a renovated concession stand. The viewing platform provides spectators with physical disabilities one of the best vantage points in the stadium, offering a unique alternative to traditional accessible seating locations.
- Phase III transformed the existing visitor locker room into a new home locker room, bringing players closer to the home crowd and creating a more connected game-day experience. The phase also added a coaches’ office and multipurpose space, a training room, and enclosed storage areas beneath the stadium.
Following extensive community input, Van Wert City Schools chose to preserve Eggerss Stadium in its downtown location rather than relocate it to the district's main campus. Community support remained strong throughout the project, demonstrating the stadium's significance as both a historic landmark and a valued gathering place for future generations.
