Correctional News recently published an article featuring Miami County Courthouse Plaza, the Garmann/Miller Architects-Engineers designed project that brought new life to this historical, late-19th-centrury landmark. The Oct. 1 ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony celebrated its completion with key stakeholders. It was followed by an evening of festivities during which community members gathered to experience the plaza’s fresh facelift.
This Troy, Ohio-based project was completed in two phases beginning with demolition, followed by a second phase that included the design and construction of the plaza. Colorful night lighting to highlight the courthouse’s architecture is a dynamic feature.
“As a lighting designer, I’m constantly challenged to find new and creative ways to illuminate spaces, “ remarked Ben Miller, GMAE electrical engineer. “It’s so rewarding to know members of our team played a part in designing a feature that Miami County residents will enjoy for years to come.”
