Garmann Miller, a Midwest-leading professional design firm, has promoted Taylor Luth and hired her husband, Derek, as co-directors of its Fort Wayne operations. The Luth-led team is working out of GM’s office in downtown’s vibrant Electric Works district.
The co-director positions and expansion complement GM’s Indianapolis office and signifies a regional focus on serving PK-12 education clients with innovative architectural and master planning solutions.
“We’re thrilled to deepen our commitment to Indiana communities by appointing Taylor and Derek to lead our Fort Wayne operations,” said Eric Baltzell, Garmann Miller CEO. “This growth allows us to enhance our ability to deliver sustainable designs that impact the student learning experience.”
The firm’s presence within the revitalized General Electric industrial site demonstrates its dedication to preserving heritage while embracing forward-thinking design approaches. GM shares the workspace at Electric Works with Indianapolis-based Studio M Architecture & Planning.
“It’s exciting to be in a lively, mixed-use environment here at Electric Works,” Taylor Luth said. “Our strategic focus is on fostering stronger partnerships with regional school corporations, educational professionals and community members.”
Both Luths were previous GM interns while earning their bachelor’s degrees in architecture from The Ohio State University, and they continued their education by receiving master’s degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. Taylor joined the GM team in early 2021, while Derek is in his first month with Garmann Miller, as the two officially began their Fort Wayne leadership roles.
