We’re thrilled to announce the recipients of Garmann Miller’s annual Game Changers Scholarship: Kateri Sherman of Fort Loramie High School, Lily Armstrong of DeKalb High School, and Robert Cisek of Watkins Memorial High School. Each of these outstanding seniors has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship to support their next chapter in higher education.
Sherman (left) will be heading to the University of Kentucky to study integrated strategic communication. Armstrong (middle) is preparing for her journey into interior design at Ball State University, and Cisek (right) is set to begin his studies in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech.

“Through the Garmann Miller scholarship program, we’re helping shape the next generation of leaders in our industry,” said CEO Eric Baltzell. “It’s an honor to support these students as they pursue their education, and we’re excited to see the impact they’ll make in the years ahead.”
The Game Changers Scholarship program was launched in 2021 by our passionate team of employee volunteers who plan and perform philanthropic endeavors. Each year, they partner with local high school guidance counselors to reach students with aspirations in architecture, engineering, construction, communication, and design-related fields.

Applicants are asked to share their goals and dreams through thoughtful essays, giving us a glimpse into the vision and ambition of the next generation. It’s our way of encouraging students to pursue careers that will shape the built environment and the stories we tell within it.
Congratulations to this year’s recipients. We wish them the best in their next steps in education and the pursuit of their dreams!
