West Carrollton City Schools is one step closer to replacing its current buildings. The Dayton Daily News reported in its Monday, Dec. 30 edition that the district’s board selected Garmann/Miller Architects-Engineers as the architect for the first phase of its building project. Bids were accepted after GMAE assisted the West Carrollton community in passing a bond issue Nov. 5. The 37-year, 5.6-mill tax increase will allow WCSD to build four new schools to replace all of its current buildings with financial help from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission.

According to the Dayton Daily News article, Superintendent Dr. Andrea Townsend said the school district’s established relationship with Garmann/Miller was the deciding factor in choosing the Minster and Columbus, Ohio-based firm.

Phase 1 includes the design of new PK-1 and 5-6 buildings.
