New Bremen Local School is one step closer to bringing all Cardinals into one nest. The district celebrated the groundbreaking of its new $17 million elementary and middle school Thursday that was attended by dignitaries, school administrators and the entire 750 K-12 student body.
Superintendent Jason Schrader said this was a historic moment for the K-6 student body and thanked members of the Board of Education, Cardinal Levy Campaign, Garmann/Miller Architects-Engineers, the Gilbane Company and the village administration for helping create a modern, state-of art facility.
“We wanted to bring back a true K-12 feel,” Schrader added. “This also is a more cost-effective measure joining both buildings onto one campus.” The buidling will include classrooms, a multi-purpose dining and gym area, and a playground, broadening the scope of what teachers and student are able to do in technology and in extended learning areas.
